What a statement win against South Alabama this past Saturday—our team showed toughness, discipline, and a hunger that reflects what we’ve been working toward all offseason. Starting 3-0, breaking through the AP Top-25, it’s clear these Tigers believe in themselves. But the real work has just begun. This week, we’ll head to Norman for our SEC opener against Oklahoma, then travel to College Station to face Texas A&M. Those are the kinds of games that define seasons—and I’ve never been more excited about what this group can do. Let’s keep building.
War Eagle! — Head Coach Hugh Freeze

This week’s theme is “On This Spot”. In 2 Samuel 23:13, David’s warriors found themselves in a cave during a time of testing, and it became a place of incredible significance—a proving ground where courage, faith, and integrity were revealed. For us, this trip to Oklahoma is our proving ground. Great teams aren’t just defined by their talent; they’re defined by what they do when tested, when the spotlight is brightest and the challenge is greatest. Just like David’s men, we must recognize that opportunity doesn’t come without adversity, and our response will write the testimony of this Auburn team. On this spot, in this moment, we must play with toughness, integrity, and belief—refusing to compromise who we are, refusing to back down, and attacking every snap with the confidence that God has positioned us here for a reason.

🟠 On To The Next. Auburn football defeated South Alabama 31-15 on Homecoming in front of a sold-out crowd! Jackson Arnold accounted for three touchdowns, two rushing and one passing. Jeremiah Cobb recorded his second-straight 100-yard rushing game, totaling 119 yards and a touchdown.
The performance marked 3 straight 30+ point games to open the season—the first time since 2009. The Tigers have recorded 10 rushing touchdowns through the first three games of the season. Auburn had 13 rushing touchdowns throughout all of 2024.
On the defensive end, Keyron Crawford made his first career interception and added two tackles for loss among his five tackles. Auburn is tied for first in the SEC in tackles for loss (26.0) through the first three weeks.

🟠 Freshman Flash. In Auburn’s 31-15 win, 10 members of the 2025 class saw the field—and they didn’t just take snaps; they made plays. Freshman safety Eric Winters recorded five solo tackles, while freshman linebacker Elijah Melendez made three tackles and freshman linebacker Jared Smith made two tackles for loss, including a strip sack recovered by Xavier Atkins. Anquon Fegans added two tackles in the fourth quarter.
“They came in in January with the right mindset, ready to learn from the older guys who have been here. Now they’re putting themselves in position to get on the football field.”
🟠 Moving On Up. Auburn moved up to No. 22 in the AP poll this week and is No. 25 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.

🟠 On The Road. Auburn kicks off SEC play Saturday at No. 11 Oklahoma (3-0) at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC, the first of four straight ranked opponents. Saturday’s game against the Sooners will be Auburn’s first game in the state of Oklahoma in program history.
🟠 Auburn Made – NFL Week 2 Highlights. Former Tigers were busy in Week 2 of the NFL! Here’s a look at the standout performances:
Braden Smith (Indianapolis Colts) — The offensive lineman has been key to the Colts 2-0 start, allowing zero quarterback hits and just three pressures while playing every snap. He’s helped pave the way for the second-best NFL offense, averaging 445 yards per game.
Daniel Carlson (Las Vegas Raiders) — Carlson accounted for all Raiders points in a loss, going 3-for-3 on field goals (54, 40, 37 yards). He’s second all-time in field goals made for the Raiders and tied for sixth in the league this season.
Roger McCreary (Tennessee Titans) — The corner notched seven tackles (four solo) and a pass defended. He’s yet to miss a tackle this season and ranks eighth in run defense and ninth in coverage among NFL corners.
Jamien Sherwood (New York Jets) — The linebacker led the team with 13 tackles (six solo) and added 2.0 TFL. He ranks tied for 11th in the league in tackles through two weeks and serves as a 2025 team captain.

🟠 Wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, a former Auburn standout and team captain, has been developing the Tigers’ pass catchers since joining Hugh Freeze’s staff in December 2022. A four-year letterman from 2013-16, Davis helped Auburn win an SEC title and played in the BCS National Championship as a freshman.
Last season, he helped guide veteran KeAndre Lambert-Smith to 981 receiving yards, good for third in the SEC, before Lambert-Smith was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers. His guidance continues to elevate Auburn’s wideouts and set the foundation for future stars.
"It's bigger than football for me. It's about changing lives in the way that Auburn changed my life and giving them the opportunities I had."
