🏈 Good Morning, Auburn Family! Following a change in leadership, Auburn is focused on the task ahead. The Tigers travel to Nashville this Saturday to face No. 14 Vanderbilt in their fifth SEC road test.
“The guys that are in this class, they’ve chosen Auburn for a lot of reasons, and all of those reasons are still the same. We’re going to continue to recruit them like crazy.”

🟠 Leadership Change. Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen announced a change in leadership for the Auburn football program. D.J. Durkin will serve as interim head coach going forward.

🟠 Home Series Announced. Auburn Football will play a home-and-home series with Notre Dame in 2027 and 2028. Auburn will visit historic Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 25, 2027, for the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Fighting Irish will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the return game on October 28, 2028.

🟠 RB1. Junior running back Jeremiah Cobb continues to deliver when Auburn needs him most. After two seasons as a backup, Cobb remained on The Plains and kept working. This season, Cobb has become the heartbeat of the Auburn offense, ranking third in the SEC in carries (137), fourth in rushing (87.7) and rushing yards (789), and fifth in yards per rush (5.76).
“I meant that commitment. I’m going to stay here, keep working. Put my head down and keep working, God’s going to bless me.”

🟠 The Emergence. Auburn travels to Nashville this Saturday to face No. 14 Vanderbilt in an SEC road test. This matchup marks just the second time the Tigers have faced a ranked Commodores team in series history.
The Tigers enter Week 10 as one of only three FBS teams — and the only one from the SEC — that has yet to allow more than 24 points in a game this season. Auburn ranks top 25 nationally in rush defense (9th, 83.6 YPG), scoring defense (18th, 17.7 PPG), and total defense (22nd, 309.8 YPG).
🟠 Auburn Made – NFL Week 9 Highlights. Darius Slayton, Carlton Davis III, and Derick Hall each turned in season-best performances in this week’s NFL rundown.
Carlton Davis III (CB, New England Patriots) — Davis tallied a season-high six tackles, including five solo stops, in the Patriots’ 24-23 win over the Falcons. He added a pass breakup and raised his season run-defense grade to 80.4, ranking sixth among all NFL corners.
Derick Hall (LB, Seattle Seahawks) — Hall posted a season-high five tackles, two solo stops, and his first tackle for loss of the season. The former Tiger owns career best overall and run defense PFF grades through six games played.
Darius Slayton (WR, New York Giants) — Slayton led the Giants in receiving with five catches for 62 yards, including a 24-yard grab to set up a key fourth-quarter touchdown. He now ranks third all-time among Auburn alumni in NFL receiving yards (4,151).

🟠 Special Teams Coordinator Chad Lunsford sees special teams as “a total part of the team game” — impacting both offense and defense. To Lunsford, they’re not just special teams, they’re special forces, a tribute to the U.S. military’s top troops.
A part of Auburn’s 2010 national championship team, Lunsford served as the Tigers’ director of scouting and director of player personnel from 2009-13.
“What I really love about it is it directly affects offense and defense. It’s a total part of the team game. I like to say one shot, one kill. We’ve got one play, and we’ve got to go kill it.”

🟠 Comeback Kid. Kicker Alex McPherson has been named to the Comeback Player of the Year Watchlist, which honors college football student-athletes who have overcome injury, illness, or other circumstances.
After a 2023 campaign in which he went perfect on all kicks and was named a Lou Groza Award semifinalist, McPherson was sidelined last season by ulcerative colitis, undergoing major surgery that threatened to end his career. Instead, he fought back stronger than ever.
This fall, McPherson has been a model of resilience and perseverance — going a perfect 22-for-22 on PATs and 13-for-16 on field goals, including a season-long 47-yarder at Arkansas.
