🏈 Good Morning, Auburn Family! The Tigers showed resilience and toughness in a hard-fought 24-17 battle against Oklahoma. This Saturday, Auburn heads to College Station to take on No. 9 Texas A&M in another big SEC test, ready to make a statement.

This week we get another huge opportunity to show who Auburn is becoming. I believe deeply in our program — in the culture, the work, and the belief our players have poured in each day. We’re heading into Saturday fully prepared to take on Texas A&M, and I believe our team is ready to impose our style of play. We’re not just laying a foundation — we’re building something real that can compete in the SEC and return Auburn to its rightful place. Our supporters, our staff, our student-athletes — this is our moment to make a statement.

This week’s theme is “Field of Dreams.” In 2 Samuel, we see Shammah standing his ground in the middle of a field while everyone else fled, and it was in that moment of courage and faith that God brought about a great victory. For us, the question is: what days of our lives will stand out as defining moments? Games like this—on the road at Texas A&M—are opportunities to create those moments. There’s something powerful about returning to a place where God has proven Himself faithful, and this field will be another chance for Him to show that again. Remember, God doesn’t call the qualified—He qualifies the called. We’ve been called to this challenge, and if we operate in faith, it’s not our reputation on the line, it’s His. That gives us the freedom to play fearlessly, to stand our ground, and to fight for victory together. This is our field of dreams, and it’s time to claim it.

🟠 Fought For 60. Auburn football fell to No. 7 Oklahoma 24-17 in their SEC opener. Despite a strong fourth-quarter drive that gave them the lead, Auburn fell short after Oklahoma scored a game-winning touchdown. The Tigers struggled with penalties and missed opportunities, while having a defensive touchdown erased after a video review, and an opponent's touchdown permitted to stand despite what the SEC later ruled should have been an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Oklahoma.

Jackson Arnold threw for 220 yards and a touchdown. Eric Singleton Jr. hauled in a career-high nine catches, extending his catch streak to 28 games. The streak is the 12th longest active streak in FBS and third-longest among players in the SEC.

The Tigers showed off their defensive strength: Auburn is now tied for second in the SEC and tied for eighth in FBS in tackles for loss (32.0) and is the only team in the league with four players with 4.0+ TFL. Standouts included Xavier Atkins with a career-high seven tackles and Keldric Faulk notching his 10th career sack.

🟠 Ground Game Lockdown. Auburn’s defense limited Oklahoma to just 32 rushing yards, the fewest allowed to an SEC opponent since holding Mississippi State to 13 yards in 2022. Through four games, the Tigers have allowed only 233 rushing yards, the fewest through four games since 1994, and currently lead the SEC and rank fifth in the FBS in rushing defense (58.3 YPG).

🟠 Game Five. The Tigers head to College Station to take on #9 Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. The matchup marks Auburn’s second of four straight games against teams currently ranked in the AP Top 20.

🟠 SEC Schedule Announced. Auburn’s traditional rivalries with Georgia and Alabama are preserved, and an annual matchup with Vanderbilt will occur for the next four seasons. The SEC will move to a nine-game conference schedule in 2026, ensuring every team plays all other conference opponents at least once every two years and home-and-away over four years.

🟠 Auburn Made – NFL Week 3 Highlights. Former Tigers showed out in Week 3 of the NFL! Here’s this week’s NFL rundown:

  • Jamel Dean (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) — Dean helped Tampa Bay to a 29-27 win over the Jets with a 55-yard pick-six before halftime. It was his ninth career interception and second career pick-six. He earned a 92.2 PFF grade, did not allow a reception on three targets, and ranks 6th in the league overall through three weeks.

  • Austin Keys (Minnesota Vikings) — The rookie linebacker recorded his first career sack in only his second NFL game, sacking Bengals QB Jake Browning for an 11-yard loss in Minnesota’s 48-10 win.

  • Jamien Sherwood (New York Jets) — Sherwood led the Jets with 11 tackles (5 solo) for the second week in a row. He ranks 6th in the NFL with 30 total tackles, and his 83.6 PFF run defense grade ranks 10th among linebackers.

  • Braden Smith (Indianapolis Colts) — Smith helped the Colts to a 41-20 win over Tennessee, allowing zero sacks, three pressures, and no QB hits in 188 snaps. His pass-blocking grade of 82.6 in week three is a season high, helping Indianapolis rank second in NFL yards per game.

🟠 Defensive tackles coach Vontrell King-Williams, a 30-year coaching veteran, brings energy, leadership, and a wealth of experience to Auburn’s defensive front.

In 2024, he helped the Tigers record 28 sacks and 68 tackles for loss, highlighted by standout performances from Jalen McLeod, Keldric Faulk, and freshman Malik Blocton, who earned Freshman All-America honors. Under his guidance, Philip Blidi, Jayson Jones, and Isaiah Raikes signed with NFL teams.

“My title is ‘Football Coach’, but it’s deeper than that. It’s bigger than that for me. I need to be developing the whole human.”
